COR'18 | Day 3 - Construction & Teaching Part 1

Hello

It is our first day of construction and teaching. (:

The teaching team taught the children how to play tic tac toe but using different coloured bean bags for the X and O.

It was quite tough to explain the rules of the game but luckily there was a teacher there to help us and we are so grateful for him haha.

The teacher also taught us lots of Nepali Sign Language like minutes, wrong, correct.

Glad that the children had so much fun with this simple game. They were really happy when they won!

Tense moments during the tic tac toe.

The construction team started off by digging holes in the ground to build the foundation of a classroom.

This is to loosen the soil.

The actual digging part.

transporting the soil that we dug up to somewhere.

Break time means happy Alicia

LUNCH TIME!

The packed food was really nice. I love it.

Some of the kids tried to take pictures with our cameras

While some of them like to see the pictures we took of them

They were very cute. They kept asking for our sign names and tried their best to remember all our sign names

There was a random dance battle during the lunch break. We did not take pictures of the children dancing but they danced enthusiastically like our two volunteers here, Kenneth(left) and Jerry(right).

We have videos of the children dancing, can check it out on Facebook.

After lunch!

The teaching team conducted lesson on painting after lunch.

These are some of the paintings they painted and they were quite eager to take a picture with their own art work.

They are all so talented and I wish I have their creativity haha.

They were first taught how to make their own colour wheel by only using the primary colours(red, blue and yellow)

Something funny happened during construction.

Our dear friend,Rachel, thought it was a great idea to wear alibaba pants for construction

but her pants failed her.

It tore.

She tried covering it with masking tape but it did not work out.

After that she tried newspaper but it did not work out too

Her only hope was a plastic bag and it worked great.

Actually the three photos below are just photos that I want to show off.

I feel proud of my photos.

they were carrying each other and their smiles are just so precious (':

They are so cute and pretty. They kept asking for me to take pictures of them and I'm so happy they are willing to pose in front of the camera.

This was probably how everyone slept after construction (the one in black shirt)

Good bye.
